Ayarwady region is the ‘Rice Pot’ or the big ‘Rice Barn’ of Myanmar. Pathein, its capital, is a city with charming cultures.

You need not much time to take a trip round the interesting small city which was once part of the Mon Kingdom (Hantharwady Kingdom). Many visitors come visit it, especially visitors to Chaungtha or Ngwesaung take a stop there.

Various hotels and lodgings can be found in the city but most are high buildings, rarely found bungalow-providing hotels.
