The only hotel in the old Mway Taw Kakku region with 2478 pagodas built by the King Siridahmarsawka. The Kakku region is the heart of the Pa-O people.

The hotel’s name “Hlaing Konn”(specifically, Golden Island Cottages – Hlaing Konn) having the meaning of “to be prosperous” was named by U Khan Hti, the leader of Pa-O national organization, for the future Kakku region. Located nearest to the Kakku Pagodas, the hotel is built on over 3 acres land and comprises 24 rooms.

The design and color of the hotel match with the region. Entering the hotel compound, it offers a breath of the past.

Two bungalow room types – 8 Couple Deluxe rooms and 16 Family Deluxe rooms are provided. A Couple Deluxe room is $ 95 per night for foreign guests and 95000 K for local guests and as for a Family Deluxe room, $ 85 for foreign guests and 85000 K for locals.

Not only breakfast but dinner — Pa-O traditional cuisine or European foods — is also served. Every room includes a shower, a bathtub and a toilet, each separately placed so it does not need to wait each other. Bathtub room has a structure that can give you a taste of bathing in a spring around rocks. Room accessories are predominantly black and white, which are the traditional colors of the Pa-O people.

Surrounding views from Couple Deluxe rooms are eye-catching and very suitable for those who would like to enjoy reading in quiet. As special services, the hotel serves guests to make offering foods to monks and to do meditation in the morning and bicycles will soon be provided for biking around the surrounding villages. Take a morning walk to pilgrimage the Kakku Pagodas, a short distance from the hotel.

Currently there are 30 stuff in the hotel and most of them are Pa-O people, with their sweet smiles. During your stay, you can explore and study the traditions and lives of the ethnic groups in villages nearby.
