A peaceful place among cool hills, that staring cloud sea, that concentrated of beauties, that got the essence of tranquillity and inspired of quiets…..
I made a visit to the place. For me who always had ever seen sea scenes before, everything was different. Fir-trees, snow-covered hills and all sights seeing from my room were very romantic and just like a classic painting.
It is ‘Myat-saytaman Traditional Bamboo house’, one of the beauty spots in south Shan State. No one would imagine that there is such a place among several hills far away from the city.
However rough the road is, all the tiredness got along the trip will be driven out in the bosom of ‘Myat-saytaman’ with cute and naturally designed traditional bamboo houses. Not much electrical appliances are there as the place is aided for ecotourism.
And undisturbed natural scenes are the wants of photographers.
If you want to make a trip into the place in your own plan, take a go to Cherry highway station that in the town Aung-pan, South Shan State, and continue to the place by a car or cycle. But if your arrival is in morning only cycle is available.
Please keep in mind not to forget to pack more than a warmer to withstand icy wind. Despite that, don’t worry because ‘Myat-saytaman’ will be welcoming you with hot and yummy ‘Shan noodle’. And also bamboo houses will give you a warm. Fresh air mixing fragrance of fir-tree can freshen your tiredness up.
The place is between Hti-thain and Kyauksu, Pa-ai traditional villages located aside Aungpann-Inntain road. Bed rooms are available for one, for two and for a family and may cost from 15000 ks (about $11) to 60000 ks (about $45). Breakfast serviced by the hotel is Shan-rice and Soon-ton soup very fit in with the cold season. For dinner is as you wish. Moreover, something pleasant to you is ‘Meetauk’ drink (very strong drink) and baked banana, traditional foods.
While in Myat-Saytaman, you can visit into the ancient Shwe-inn-tain pagoda by a car or cycle. The famous pagoda with over 1,000 ancient pagodas had been respectfully constructed by the King Siridahmasawka over AB(Anno Buddha) 200. Then from it, continue to the Phaung-taw-oo pagoda just in 25 minutes by motorboat.
So one day if you will be in Aung-pann or in Kalaw, and you have a usual feeling of staying in high-end hotels, and have a taste for trekking, don’t miss that ‘Myat-saytaman’ is warmly welcoming you.
