U Myint Sein, the director-general of hotel & tourism, said to the ‘Travelling’ journal that based on the Nat-Yae-Kan mountain in the Magway region, Community Based Tourism (CBT) will focus on ‘organic farming’ to attract tourists. On the mountain, cool and fresh air and edible plants not using chemical fertilizers may be the tourist attraction.

Myint Sein also said “The mountain possesses rich soil that lemon, banana, sweet-pepper and many other edible plants can be planted by organic system. Because of this we will cooperate with the department concerned to become the mountain an organic farming place to visit.”

CBT will be operated by the mountain villages Myae Lat, Bone Ball, Soon Tat, Goat Gyi and the project has been reported to the region’s government.

Moreover, the strangeness of Nat-Yae- Kan travel is that visitors can not only enjoy the fresh air in green plants but also study literature, culture and traditional habits of the ethnic groups, Acho Chin. Currently a survey for CBT site is running. There are very few visitors as an official tour but have some local visitors.

“A law must be confirmed for foreigners visiting. As the Air Defence Force is on the mountain, foreigners must be ruled not to go there” Myint Sein added.

The mountain has a height of 3500 ft. and is located on the Ean valley road directed to Rhakhine state. From the Magway, it can be got through Min Boo-Pathein road.
