U Thein Htway, member of tourism development committee ( Nay Pyi Taw), said they have planned to initiate community based tourism (CBT) in Nay Pyi Taw.
Paung Laung near Nantmongyi waterfall and Kayan village, between Pyinmana and Lewe, have been earmarked to. Kayan races are living in this village and Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA), Nay Pyi taw , has submitted to the committee to make CBT in the village.
“To make CBT in Nay Pyi Taw, Kayan village should be as it is a place where travelers can enjoy traditional beauties of the ethnic group and taste traditional foods. It will be a new place where visitors can take trekking, hiking and also scenery is very nice. So the village has possibility to be made for CBT. “
And though Paung Laung is in the boundary of Shan state, it is very close to Nay Pyi taw so UMTA has got the allowance to manage Nay Pyi taw based CBT in this new town. Currently, places like Congressional building, Uppatasanti Pagoda, and Buddha Gaya are majorly visited in Naypyitaw and that is why new tour sites are being explored.
